Congratulations. Looks like it was a great talk, and when I'm near a computer, will take a gander at the other media you uploaded. But seriously, congratulations and I can't wait to see even better things happen for you.

mm: more stevie, less po, and a sprinkling of bruce chatwin (title of talk=talk of his last book).

Adri you're such an inspiration for us not-young-enough-not-old-enough!

Incidentally, I borrowed this book from my school library "Shooting under fire" by Peter Howe telling the stories of 10 of the greatest war photographers. And James Nachtwey is one of the 10! I'll be reading on his chapter after I'm done commenting here.

"...money is best made doing the things you love." and "Don’t waste your time living other people’s dreams for you." That is so true. Inspiring post.

i envy you. doing what we like the most as a profession or basically every minute, every second is a gift from God.

Pity I didn't attend villagetalk, but this blog entry is an inspiration nonetheless.

What I find most admirable is the positive approach you take, with no negativity towards any other paths people choose. You don't brand your friends who do go to work for banks 'sellouts' or anything like that. Instead, you encourage everyone to think about what they love and go out and do it. Bravo!

that was very inspiring, an impetus to get out to live my own dreams. it's a little like paul coelho's
'the alchemist', seeking your personal legends. congrats on your nat geo gig, look forward to reading more of your works and seeing your pictures

Lmao. The most important ones of life's questions come from total nowheres! I could not have imagined it coming from a blog I found god knows how (not calling your blog a nowhere, forgive me)

I work at a business consultancy but I love travel, photography, people, places, music and books. Thanks for the 'What am I doing here?' bug you just gave me.

Btw, all your education is still chasing after you. You used 'opportunity cost' here. Lol.
  • Adrianna Tan · 4 months ago
:) Opportunity cost? Scarcely. More optimization. I can scarcely think of anything else that I could have used "my education" for!
